Abstract
|
|
|
Systemic lupus erythematosus is .the classic prototype of a multisystemic disease of
presummed autoimmune origin. As a manifestation of apparent immunologic nature of
acute vascular lesions in all tissues and organs affected, characteristic renal lesion is
common.
Varying levels of urinary fibrin(ogen) degradation product are found in many types of
renal discases, the highest levels being recoraed in cases of lupus nephritis. Although
thrombocytopenia is probably the most common coagulation defects in S.L.E.,
incoagulability of the blood due to an acquired circulating anticoagulant does occur.
Described here a case(33 year-old female) of systemic lupus erythematosus associates
with a high level of FDP in the serum & urine, and blood incoagulability.
